Electronics Lab Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Lab Engineer to join our team at Raytheon UK. As an Electronics Lab Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the engineering lab's test equipment calibration, lab material stock control, and supporting lab safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist engineers with test set-up, including wiring 3-phase plugs/sockets, test equipment software download/set-up, and safety covers/boxes.
  • Assist engineers with resistive load set-up, prototype assembly/PCBs, cable repairs - mechanical work, wiring, soldering, crimping.
  • Assist with risk assessment management, reviewing ECNs, and signing off.
  • Assist with COSHH management, requesting new chemicals through Sypol.
  • Manage contractors, including onsite calibration and annual PAT.
  • Assist with packing equipment/EXIM forms to ship, including EMC/EMI testing.
  • Perform functional testing of electronic assemblies to aid Design Verification and Qualification, supporting contractual, quality, and schedule requirements.
Requirements:
  • A qualification in Electronics, e.g., HNC/HND or equivalent.
  • Approximately 2 years (or more) experience in an electrical role in engineering.
  • Demonstrable skills in electrical wiring, electronics, and soldering.
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and methods of testing systems in an electrical lab.
  • Familiarity with test software, e.g., LabView.
  • Demonstrable experience in cable selection, termination, and safety testing for standard low voltage (230v) apparatus.
