Job Title: Assistant Head Teacher: Mental Health and Well-being

This is a senior leadership role that requires a dynamic leader with strong management skills to oversee the strategic development of pupil development and well-being in the Senior School.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the well-being strand of the whole school plan and stay updated on trends in mental health.
  • Work with the Senior Leadership Team to develop policies and procedures.
  • Coach Heads of Year, House Leadership, PSHE & RSE Heads, and mentor teams to enhance pastoral support.
  • Collaborate across departments to integrate well-being into the curriculum.
  • Manage external mental health education relationships.
  • Coordinate the school's rewards and sanctions system.
  • Teach up to eight periods weekly.
Requirements:
  • A dynamic leader with strong management skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with pupils and maintain high levels of organisation and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Awareness of the role of well-being in raising standards.
  • Experience in leading school-wide well-being initiatives would be an advantage.
