Job Title: Education Assistant - Special Needs

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Education Assistant to join our team at School of Special Educational Needs: Medical and Mental Health. As an Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of planned educational programs for students with complex needs.

About the Role

As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to provide quality education to students whose physical or mental health presents difficulties in accessing their usual educational program. You will be responsible for supporting the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment, assisting teachers in implementing educational programs, and contributing to the evaluation of educational programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of planned educational programs for students with complex needs
  • Assist teachers in implementing educational programs, including special education and therapy programs
  • Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to provide quality education to students
  • Assist with general health and well-being of students
Requirements
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs
  • Knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents
