Exciting Opportunity for Consultant Anaesthetists
Are you ready to take on a new challenge in the field of anaesthesia? We are looking for dedicated Consultant Anaesthetists to spearhead the development of a sedation service within a prominent private endoscopy practice.
Position Overview
This role offers both full-time and part-time options, with no on-call duties and weekends required. The position comes with a competitive remuneration package, including private healthcare coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the administration of intravenous anaesthesia and sedation.
- Provide comprehensive peri-procedural care.
- Collaborate with a team of Consultant Anaesthetists to ensure optimal coverage across multiple procedure rooms.
- Engage in performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
Qualifications
- Evidence of qualifications as a Consultant Anaesthetist, including a primary medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
- FRCA or equivalent with proof of completion of higher specialist training.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Consultant within the UK's National Health Service.
- Current Adult Life Support certification.
- Demonstrated experience in administering local anaesthesia, conscious sedation, and general anaesthesia.
Professional Development
Participation in training, audits, and quality improvement activities is essential. You will also be expected to educate multidisciplinary teams in acute medical and emergency scenarios, fostering a culture of safety and quality.
Patient Care
Conduct thorough pre-anaesthesia assessments, ensuring patient safety and adherence to established protocols. You will manage medication effectively and comply with infection control policies.
Documentation and Compliance
Maintain accurate records of anaesthesia care, narcotic usage, and equipment checks, adhering to current standards and organizational policies.
Language Proficiency
Fluency in English (comprehension, reading, and writing) is required. For international candidates, evidence of passing English language exams and provisional GMC registration is necessary.
