Substantive Consultant Anaesthetist

Full-time 10 PAs

The post will be based mainly at the Denmark Hill site but may be required to work flexibly across the KCH sites. There will be an average of programmed activities of direct clinical care with the remainder being allocated for supporting professional and/or other activities worked over an average of days. This may include covering the transplant on call with a 1:8 frequency, which attracts a 5% uplift.

You must be fully registered with the GMC and hold a Licence to Practice and be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent to be eligible for interview.

Main Duties of the Job

These are replacement Consultant posts. The post holders will have broad interests including anaesthesia for adults undergoing high-risk surgery, in addition to experience in regional, vascular, and/or trauma management. The postholder will have significant involvement in the delivery of emergency anaesthesia both during daytime cover and as part of the general consultant on-call rota.

The department covers most anaesthesia specialties, and a dynamic individual with supplementary interests would be welcomed. It is envisaged that the appointees will contribute to the development and delivery of aspects of these services depending upon their interests and experience.
