About the Role

This is a key leadership position within the Institute of Nursing and Midwifery Care Excellence, supporting and enabling the Assistant Director of Nursing and Midwifery (R& I) and Clinical Lead for Research and Innovation in relation to research and innovation activity.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop systems and policies supporting nursing and midwifery research and innovation across the Trust and within the Institute for N& M Care Excellence.
  • Initiate and develop research and development programmes and policies with an impact outside NUH.
  • Support the Assistant Director of Nursing to ensure alignment of Corporate and Divisional research, innovation for the non-medical clinical workforce.
  • Lead and manage large improvement and doctoral level research projects/studies.
  • Develop and present workable solutions to complex service and research and innovation issues.

Requirements
  • NMC Registered nurse or midwife.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or closely health-related degree.
  • Evidence of completed Masters training in research.
  • Additional related clinical specialist qualification.
Desirable
  • Completed PhD.
  • Postgraduate teaching and assessing qualification.

Experience
  • Recent experience at a senior level, including project management, change management, and multidisciplinary working.
  • Experience of leading and managing large improvement and doctoral level research projects/studies.

  • Extensive experience of teaching, developing, and facilitating research and innovation programmes to the inter-professional team across health and social care settings.
Communication and Relationship Skills
  • Excellent communications skills (written and oral) to the multi-professional team at a variety of levels.

  • Ability to influence and motivate staff to deliver challenging targets.
