Crowhall Medical Group is seeking a dependable and adaptable General Practitioner to join our dedicated team for 6-8 sessions per week. We welcome candidates with varying levels of experience and are eager to integrate you into our supportive and friendly environment.

As a single-site GMS practice, we operate from a modern health center equipped with ample free parking and an on-site pharmacy. Our collaboration with a neighboring practice and the Gateshead East District Nursing Team enhances our service delivery. We pride ourselves on achieving high Quality and Outcomes Framework (QoF) standards and have consistently received 'GOOD' ratings from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Our clinical and administrative teams hold regular meetings, and your participation is encouraged as we value an inclusive approach. We are committed to your education and professional growth, supporting all staff in pursuing their special interests. Daily informal catch-ups over coffee foster a collaborative atmosphere, and we offer mentoring for newly qualified or returning doctors.

Informal discussions and visits are highly encouraged.

Main Responsibilities

The post-holder will be expected to perform a variety of tasks in accordance with the practice timetable, including:

  • Conducting surgery consultations and telephone/video consultations.
  • Visiting patients at home as necessary.
  • Managing repeat prescriptions and addressing queries promptly.
  • Making independent professional decisions regarding patient care.
  • Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undiagnosed conditions.
  • Screening for disease risk factors and early illness signs.
  • Developing care plans in consultation with patients.
  • Providing health education and counseling.
  • Managing patient admissions and discharges, as well as referrals to other providers.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely consultation records.
  • Issuing acute and repeat prescriptions in line with practice protocols.

In essence, the role encompasses all standard duties and responsibilities associated with a General Practitioner in primary care.

Our experienced GP is backed by a skilled clinical team, including a salaried GP, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, nurse prescribers, practice nurses, and healthcare assistants.

Informal discussions and visits are highly encouraged.
