Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Optometrist to join our team at Costco Wholesale. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for examining patients' eyes, testing sight, and providing advice on visual problems. You will also prescribe and fit spectacles or contact lenses when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Eye Examinations: Conduct thorough eye examinations to diagnose sight problems, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and eye diseases.
  • Treatment and Advice: Provide treatment, such as contact lenses or glasses, and offer advice on how to take care of patients' eyes.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on how to clean and wear contact lenses, and inform them about eye care best practices.
  • Collaboration with Medical Practitioners: Liaise with other medical practitioners and share the care of patients with chronic ophthalmic conditions.
  • Continuing Education: Undertake continuing education and training to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in optometry.
  • Leadership and Management: Manage staff, including dispensing opticians and clerical staff, and administer, organize, and plan the development of the practice.
  • Customer Service: Provide prompt and courteous service to members, employees, and vendors at all times.

Requirements:

  • Education: Hold an Optometry degree approved by the General Optical Council (GOC).
  • Skills and Experience: Be service-oriented, experienced in 'going the extra mile,' and familiar with working in a fast-paced environment.
