Optometrist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Optometrist to join our team at Costco Wholesale. As an Optometrist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional eye care services to our members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine Patients' Eyes: Conduct thorough eye exams to diagnose sight problems and provide treatment recommendations.
  • Prescribe and Fit Spectacles or Contact Lenses: Prescribe and fit spectacles or contact lenses as needed to correct vision problems.
  • Provide Education and Guidance: Educate patients on how to take care of their eyes, including proper contact lens care and maintenance.
  • Liaise with Medical Practitioners: Collaborate with other medical practitioners to share patient care and provide comprehensive eye care services.
  • Continuing Education and Training: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in eye care and participate in ongoing education and training.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and manage dispensing opticians and clerical staff to ensure seamless eye care services.
  • Practice Administration: Administer, organize, and plan the development of the practice to ensure efficient operations.
  • Vendor Liaison: Liaise with sales representatives from vision care product suppliers to ensure the best products and services for our members.
Requirements:
  • Optometry Degree: Hold an Optometry degree approved by the General Optical Council (GOC).
  • Service Orientation: Demonstrate a strong service orientation and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Be energetic and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
