Nursery Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Nursery Manager to join our team at Staff Match. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading and managing a team of childcare professionals, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality education and care to young children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, train, and develop a team of staff to ensure they understand and follow nursery policies and procedures.
  • Manage budgets, occupancy levels, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the nursery's financial and operational success.
  • Lead the team in EYFS planning and reflective practice, ensuring that children's observations, assessments, and development records are maintained.
  • Manage marketing activities, such as open days and promotions, to attract new families and maintain a strong reputation.
  • Take lead responsibility for Safeguarding and Health & Safety, ensuring that all staff follow policies and procedures.
  • Promote diversity and equal opportunities, and work in partnership with parents to form caring and trusting relationships.
  • Ensure professionalism and confidentiality at all times, and lead by example in a flexible and supportive manner.
Requirements:
  • NVQ level 3 or above in childcare or a related field.
  • Experience of leading and motivating teams, with a strong track record of success.
  • Experience of managing Safeguarding and Health & Safety, with a focus on maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children and staff.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable).
  • Paediatric First Aid (desirable).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of EYFS and childcare best practices.
