Nursery Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Nursery Manager to lead our team in Woolwich, Greater London. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on management style, experience of leading and motivating teams, and a strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing staff team, ensuring all staff understand and follow nursery policy and procedures.
  • Manage budgets, occupancy levels, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead the team in EYFS planning and reflective practice, ensuring children's observations, assessments, and development records are maintained.
  • Manage marketing activities, such as open days and promotions, to attract new families.
  • Take lead responsibility for Safeguarding and Health & Safety, ensuring all staff follow policy and procedures.
  • Promote diversity and equal opportunities, working in partnership with parents to form caring and trusting relationships.
  • Ensure professionalism and confidentiality at all times, leading by example and promoting high standards of care and education.
Requirements:
  • NVQ level 3 or above.
  • Experience of leading and motivating teams.
  • Experience of managing Safeguarding and Health & Safety.
  • Track record of involvement in Ofsted Inspections.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable).
  • Paediatric First Aid (desirable).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
