About the Role
Devon Sexual Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Sexual Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Torbay. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about providing high-quality sexual health care and has experience or a willingness to train in offering contraceptive advice and services.
As a Sexual Health Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive sexual health services to our diverse patient population. You will work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide individualised care, addressing a wide range of needs including contraception, HIV infection, and general sexual health concerns.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent consultations with patients to assess and evaluate their contraceptive and sexual health requirements.
- Provide expert clinical advice to both healthcare professionals and patients, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with other members of the clinical team, referring patients to doctors or psychology services as appropriate.
- Liaise with colleagues within the Sexual Health Service and external agencies to facilitate partner notification and ensure seamless patient care.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with related health, social, and educational services, promoting a collaborative approach to sexual health.
