Job Title: Outreach Recovery Worker

At Turning Point, we are committed to supporting individuals across England with substance use issues. We are currently seeking an Outreach Recovery Worker to join our team in Slough, where you will play a vital role in making a positive impact on people's lives.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will manage a caseload of clients, conduct assessments, develop personalized recovery plans, and provide support to help individuals overcome substance use challenges. This role requires flexibility, as it involves early morning and late-night shifts, working closely with rough sleepers, vulnerable, and complex clients. You will collaborate with the housing team, mental health workers, and medical staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to client care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct clinical risk and needs assessments to develop effective support packages
  • Provide practical advice and information to service users, their families, and professionals
  • Work collaboratively with rough sleepers support services, healthcare providers, and community partners
  • Write reports, maintain accurate records, and promote the rights and responsibilities of service users
  • Deliver specialist substance use outreach support through various channels, including weekly evening outreach, drop-in services, and early morning outreach

Requirements:

  • Trained in delivering effective brief interventions on drug and alcohol use and harm reduction
  • Experience working with rough sleepers in a housing, healthcare, or substance use context
  • Excellent communication and IT skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
