Job Title: Senior Practitioner - Children's Services

Thurrock Council is seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Children's Services team. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting our social workers and team managers in delivering high-quality services to children and families.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team, contributing to the development of our services and roles. You will be responsible for supporting the work of the team, providing guidance and expertise to social workers, and developing your skills and knowledge to become a lead in your team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the work of the team, providing guidance and expertise to social workers
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve outcomes for children and families
  • Contribute to the development of our services and roles, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes
  • Provide training and development opportunities for social workers, including reflective supervision and management support
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and families
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2 years post-qualifying experience in children's social care
  • Expertise and commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
