Role Overview

We are embarking on an exciting journey to create a state-of-the-art developer platform within AWS, while also transitioning existing DBT services from PaaS. We are seeking skilled Platform Engineers who are eager to contribute to the development of a high-performance, secure, and feature-rich platform that enhances the developer experience.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Platform Engineer, your role will involve equipping development teams with essential tools, including:

  • Application performance monitoring
  • Exception handling, log management, and metrics aggregation
  • Dashboards and declarative CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) pipelines

You will advocate for product teams regarding service-level indicators, objectives, and error budgets, and engage in negotiations surrounding these aspects. Additionally, you will contribute to the scaling of our global product platform and participate in an on-call rotation, for which an additional allowance will be provided.

  • PostgreSQL as a service (Amazon RDS)
  • Sentry
  • Redis/Elasticache

Candidate Profile

Essential Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Proficiency in building reliable, code-defined infrastructure on cloud computing systems (e.g., AWS Copilot, Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi)
  • Fluency in one or more programming languages, with a focus on writing clean and effective code
  • Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems
  • Understanding of Linux/Unix fundamentals and TCP/IP networking
  • A user-centric approach to infrastructure and platform changes, with a commitment to enhancing the Developer Experience

Desirable Skills

Additional skills that would be advantageous include:

  • Experience in designing and implementing Docker images through containerization
  • Familiarity with PaaS, Kubernetes, Django, and OAuth2/SAML2 integrations in Python
  • Experience in prototyping using existing open-source components
