Your Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sensor Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Sensor & Compute team, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and launching sensor suites to support the latest advancements in sensor hardware for autonomous vehicles.
  • Maintaining and updating sensor drivers for low-power embedded devices.
  • Developing sensor introspection capabilities to ensure high-fidelity sensor data and enable the autonomy system to leverage the full capability of each sensor.
  • Developing software diagnostic features to monitor sensor health and performance, and system plugins to inform safety decisions based on sensor health.
  • Analyzing and improving sensor data quality to provide accurate information from the real world.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the company to understand requirements and provide tools to support vehicle commissioning, calibration, and synchronization.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with different sensor modalities and their characteristics.
  • Foundation experience in C++14/17 programming skills.
  • Understanding of how to develop and debug performant C++ software.
  • Experience with time synchronization and calibration in robotics applications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly on technical matters and work well with multiple stakeholders across several teams.

Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with experience in software development for embedded devices and a track record of producing high-quality C++ code and actively contributing to peer coding reviews.
