Your Key Responsibilities

:
  1. The development and launch of sensor suites to support the latest advancements in sensor hardware for autonomous vehicles, encompassing multiple domains, including camera, radar, lidar, IMU, GPS, and multispectral devices.
  2. Maintenance and updates of sensor drivers, with a focus on applications on low-power embedded devices.
  3. Development of sensor introspection capabilities to ensure high-fidelity sensor data, enabling the autonomy system to leverage the full capability of each sensor. This involves developing algorithms and techniques for time synchronisation and timestamp estimation.
  4. Creation of software diagnostic features to monitor sensor health (performance, degradation, fault detection). Development of system plugins to allow the autonomous system to make informed safety decisions based on sensor health.
  5. Analysis and improvement of sensor data quality to obtain accurate information from the real world.
  6. Collaboration with stakeholders across the company to understand requirements and provide tools for vehicle commissioning, calibration, and synchronisation.

Requirements

What you need to succeed:

  1. Understanding of different sensor modalities and their characteristics, along with experience working with them.
  2. Foundational experience with C++14/17 programming skills.
  3. Knowledge of how to develop and debug performant C++ software.
  4. Experience with time synchronisation and calibration in robotics applications.
  5. Ability to communicate clearly on technical matters and work well with multiple stakeholders across several teams.

Extra Consideration if you have:

  1. Experience in software development for embedded devices.
  2. Experience of producing high-quality C++ code and actively contributing to peer coding reviews.
