About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sensor Systems Engineer to join our team at Oxa Autonomy. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the development and launch of sensor suites to support the latest advancements in sensor hardware for autonomous vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop sensor systems to support multiple domains, including camera, radar, lidar, IMU, GPS, and multispectral devices.
  • Maintain and update sensor drivers, with a focus on low-power embedded devices.
  • Develop sensor introspection capabilities to ensure high-fidelity sensor data and enable the autonomy system to leverage the full capability of the sensor.
  • Develop software diagnostic features to monitor sensor health, performance, and degradation, and develop system plugins to inform safety decisions based on sensor health.
  • Analyze and improve sensor data quality to obtain accurate information from the real world.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the company to understand requirements and provide tools to support vehicle commissioning, calibration, and synchronization.
Requirements
  • Understanding of different sensor modalities and their characteristics, with experience working with them.
  • Foundation experience of C++14/17 programming skills.
  • Understanding of how to develop and debug performant C++ software.
  • Experience with time synchronization and calibration in robotics applications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly on technical matters and work well with multiple stakeholders across several teams.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in software development for embedded devices.
  • Experience of producing high-quality C++ code and actively contributing to peer coding reviews.
