As a Senior Nurse Manager at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient operational management of the Outpatient department Waveney suite and injection suite Beccles AMD service. This includes budget control, clinical governance, staff development and training.
Main Responsibilities:- Ensure the maintenance of standards and professional practice as set by the NMC Code of Professional Standards of practice and behaviour and relevant professional guidelines.
- Carry overall responsibility for the organisation and management of the Ophthalmology Department, including the supervision of students.
- Provide a clear focus for clinical leadership and ensure the provision of a high standard of holistic, patient-centred care.
- Be accountable for coordinating patient care, the management of resources and performance of staff.
- Use a range of techniques to ensure set and monitor standards of clinical practice, audit, research and teaching to set monitor and continually improve standards of care and patient experience.
- Lead, manage and develop team performance, promote professionalism and trust.
- Ensure the promotion and implementation of flexible and family friendly working in accordance with trust policies.
- Ensure effective succession planning at all Bands.
- Active promotion of the Trusts' visions, values and divisional objectives.
- First Level Registration with the NMC.
- Mentorship/teaching and assessing qualification.
- Degree of experience in management of outpatients.
- A minimum of 12 months in Ophthalmology.
- Up to date clinical knowledge.
- Awareness of patient care.
- Awareness of current nursing developments appropriate to area.
- Possession of a current Professional portfolio.
