Job Title: Senior Accountant (6-month FTC)

Location: Colchester, Essex

Department: Finance

Reports To: Financial Controller

Job Summary:

Our client, a leading financial services company, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented senior accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Financial Operations Management: Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and account analysis.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and generate reports to support management decisions.
  • Financial Planning: Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies, identifying and mitigating financial risks.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, promoting professional development and growth.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes, applying knowledge to inform financial decisions.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Accounting Qualifications: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software, including Microsoft Excel
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
