This is a full-time position within the Mid Yorkshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, although applications for less than full-time work will be considered.

The successful candidate will be offered a 0.5 Core Supporting Professional Activities rota, with additional 0.5 PA for extra roles such as Lead for service. This will involve agreeing appropriate objectives in accordance with the Trust Framework and national Terms and Conditions of Service.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Being included on the GMC Specialist register
  • Having a Medical Degree from a recognised medical school
  • Having a Fellowship in Acute eye service
  • Having academic prizes
  • Being computer literate
  • Contributing to the development of the Trust and its services
  • Providing evidence of personal contributions to service development
  • Having awareness of the current UK Healthcare system and the need to develop services in line with current policy
  • Having an Ophthalmology fellowship or equivalent experience in Acute eye Service or experience in General Ophthalmology
  • Having specific educational interests and evidence of educational ideas or project work
