About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmology Consultant to join our team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, delivering outpatient clinics and day case surgery, and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the provision of General Ophthalmology with a subspecialty interest in Cornea or any other subspecialty that complements the department.
- Delivery of outpatient clinics and day case surgery.
- Urgent and Emergency Care duties, including out-of-hours on-call; schedules will take due account of the provisions of working time regulations and safe working.
- On-call duties are currently shared with 8 other colleagues on a rota, currently assessed as PA.
- Core Supporting Professional Activities will be offered to the successful candidate, for which appropriate objectives will be agreed in accordance with the Trust Framework* and national Terms and Conditions of Service, with additional PA for extra roles like Lead for service etc.
Person Specification
- GMC Registration: Full GMC Registration with licence to practise, Inclusion on the GMC Specialist register.
- Qualifications: Medical Degree from recognised medical school, FRCOphth / FRCS or equivalent.
- Experience: Wide experience in management of Cornea patients in outpatients, Lasers and theatre.
