We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our CAMHS Intensive Outreach Team at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide treatment for outpatients in clinics, ensuring the highest standards of care and patient satisfaction.
- Liaise with other service teams, GPs, and non-NHS organizations to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.
- Work closely with the community CAMHS and Inpatient services to ensure smooth handovers of clients between services, promoting continuity of care.
- Participate actively in team and personal caseload management, supervision, and professional development, contributing to the growth and success of the team.
Requirements:
- Eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of gaining CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Wide breadth of clinical experience working with children and young people with mental health problems and their families.
- Specific additional therapy training (e.g. Positive Behavioural Support, CBT, systemic therapy, DBT etc.).
- Skills in psychiatric assessment, formulation, and risk management (including safeguarding) as well as psychopharmacology in children, neurodevelopmental disorders, and attachment difficulties.
- Commitment to and experience of undergraduate and postgraduate learning and teaching.
- Experience or involvement in a research project and publication.
- Ability to supervise junior medical staff undertaking research projects.
- Experience of carrying out an audit project.
- Evidence of management/leadership skills training.
