Job Title: Workshop Controller / Workshop Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Workshop Controller / Workshop Manager to lead and inspire the workshop team at our client's dealership. The successful candidate will manage the flow of work through the workshop, ensuring quality and compliance of all works carried out.
Key Responsibilities:
- Workshop Process Management: Ensure that workshop processes are followed for every job, and obtain authorization for any additional work required.
- MOT Quality Control: Oversee MOTs to ensure quality and compliant workmanship and a first-time pass rate.
- Sign-Off and Compliance: Ensure 100% sign-off on completed inspections, ensuring customers' Operator's licenses are safe and legal.
- Team Supervision and Development: Supervise, develop, and train the workshop team to achieve the highest possible levels of performance and quality for all jobs.
- Workshop Loading and Continuity: Monitor workshop loading and ensure continuity.
- Technician Performance Monitoring: Measure technicians' activity and performance to deliver a quality and compliant first-time fix.
- Workshop Maintenance: Ensure the workshop is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Customer Complaint Resolution: Ensure all customer complaints are dealt with quickly and effectively, or escalated as per company procedures if required.
- Junior Staff Supervision: Be responsible for the supervision of junior staff, ensuring their designated duties are performed correctly, highlighting any problems, quality issues, or shortfall areas, and identifying training needs.
- Service Process Adherence: Ensure that all service processes, including quality checks and MOT, and company policies are adhered to.
- Apprentice Management: Manage and oversee workshop apprentices from a training and wellbeing perspective.
- Policy and Procedure Compliance: Ensure that within their area of operation, all Company and Trade Associations policies, procedures, and minimum standards are met, and that all statutory requirements, including trading standards, vehicle, and consumer legislation, fire, health, and safety, etc., are adhered to.
Requirements:
- Industry Qualifications: Industry qualifications achieved to a minimum of Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or mechanical engineering (all modules completed).
- Strong Passenger Car Knowledge: Strong passenger car knowledge and experience.
