Job Summary:

Gemini Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Court of Protection Paralegal to join our client's team. As a Court of Protection Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting the team's efforts in achieving the best possible results for clients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Department Director and work collaboratively with the team to achieve goals.
  • Provide professional, proactive, and client-focused support, demonstrating a sensitive and sympathetic understanding of clients' needs.
  • Assist with Court of Protection matters, including personal injury trusts, statutory wills, gift applications, deputyship applications, on-going deputyship administration, health and social care judicial review, and ancillary applications.
  • Attend clients, take instructions, and prepare cases, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Deal with correspondence, maintain accurate time costing procedures, and implement recommendations made by supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with file management and maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate passion and experience in a broad range of publically funded Court of Protection matters.
  • Hold a strong academic background with a Law degree.
  • Have legal experience as a Court of Protection Paralegal/Advisor.
  • Display a clear understanding and application of Court of Protection principles.
  • Exhibit business acumen and the ability to market the company.
  • Possess excellent communications skills to work effectively with all types of people.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to use own initiative but know when to seek guidance.
  • Be a committed team player, self-motivated, and professional.
  • Have excellent IT skills, familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills.
