About Our Court of Protection Department

Duncan Lewis Solicitors is a leading law firm that specializes in providing high-quality legal services to individuals and families affected by mental capacity issues. Our Court of Protection team is dedicated to delivering exceptional results and providing compassionate support to our clients and their loved ones.

Main Responsibilities of the Role
  • Reporting directly to the Department Director, you will be responsible for assisting with Court of Protection matters, including personal injury trusts, statutory wills, and gift applications.
  • You will work closely with clients, taking instructions, preparing cases, and attending court hearings.
  • As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate time costing procedures, implementing recommendations from supervisors, and ensuring compliance with file management.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • A strong academic background with a Law degree and relevant experience as a Court of Protection Paralegal/Advisor.
  • Clear understanding and application of Court of Protection law and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Business acumen and the ability to market the company's services.
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and document management systems.
