About the Job

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Systems Designer to join our team and contribute to the development of our upcoming AAA Battle Royale 2.0 third-person shooter, Off The Grid. As a key member of our systems design team, you'll be responsible for creating, developing, implementing, and managing game systems that drive player engagement and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of systems designers in designing, developing, and implementing game systems, including ranking, player leveling, and marketplace.
  • Collaborate with the Design Director and other stakeholders to drive the development of prototypes for new game features and ensure they meet our high standards.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation and specifications to ensure clear communication and effective collaboration with the team.
  • Manage, mentor, and guide a team of systems designers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive working environment that encourages innovation and creativity.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, sharing knowledge and improving the systems design process across teams.
  • Conduct quality checks and review ongoing development to ensure high standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in reviews and provide constructive feedback to the team to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in game systems design with at least one shipped AAA title.
  • Proven success in creating compelling and innovative systems, ideally in Battle Royale, Multiplayer, or FPS titles.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring a team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts and create detailed project documentation.
  • Passion for game systems design and the ability to effectively share knowledge with team members.
  • Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine Editor.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and openness to changes.
  • Strong understanding of player psychology and engagement strategies.
  • Experience in user testing and analyzing player feedback to drive iterative design improvements.
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive design documentation and specifications.
  • Understanding of monetization strategies and player retention techniques.
  • Experience in designing and balancing progression and economy systems.
Bonus Skills
  • Experience with third-person shooter mechanics and economy.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and project management tools.
  • Knowledge of current gaming trends and player behaviors.
