This position entails the formulation and implementation of the organization's IT Strategy. The incumbent will be instrumental in defining, communicating, and embedding the strategy, ensuring its delivery is tracked and reported at the executive and board levels.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in technology management, with a deep understanding of the banking sector's strategic objectives and technological landscape. They will be adept at identifying technology trends and strategic themes within financial services, applying industry best practices to ensure successful strategy execution. A critical thinker with high standards and a commitment to continuous improvement, the candidate will balance analytical thinking with a focus on execution and collaboration to drive transformative change.
Key Duties
- Guide the creation of the organization’s technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives while collaborating with various departments and technology disciplines.
- Regularly update the strategy to reflect changing needs and maintain compliance with relevant policies and frameworks.
- Conduct research to incorporate best practices and insights regarding long-term technology trends and competitive intelligence relevant to the Banking and Financial Services sectors.
- Stay informed about and ensure alignment with overarching technology strategies, such as cloud initiatives.
- Act as the steward of the IT Modernization investment case, promoting its importance across the organization.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to the strategy, implementing mechanisms to measure alignment and track progress.
- Manage risks and technical debt associated with strategy implementation.
- Support executive-level reporting and engagement concerning the strategy and its investment case.
- Advise senior leadership on the strategic roadmap and initiatives, serving as a trusted advisor in strategic delivery and transformation.
- Facilitate extensive communication and education throughout the organization during the transformation process.

- Expertise in managing technical debt arising from deviations from the strategy.
