Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled HV Cables CAD Design Engineer to join our team at Siemens Energy Limited. As a key member of our Grid Technologies Business Unit, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-voltage cable systems for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-voltage cable systems, including route plans, working areas, and detailed long sections/cross sections.
- Prepare project design drawings, including Single Line Diagrams and data extraction.
- Conduct 3D cable routing and measurement of cable routing to confirm route lengths on site.
- Review employers' requirements and implement them into CAD drawings.
- Prepare project as-built drawings, review and check as-builts and H&S files for turnkey projects.
- Complete site surveying and extract data to produce CAD models.
- Assist with project tender packages specific to cabling.
- Coordinate with internal and external team members/design teams/project teams.
- Prepare drawings in accordance with current company CAD standards and generate specific cabling CAD standards.
- Ensure that drawings are prepared, stored, issued, and archived in accordance with company procedures.
- Provide support and mentorship to Assistant Technicians/Technicians & Apprentices.
- Capability to work to strict deadlines and project budgets.
- Ensure that chargeable work can be evaluated by the preparation of adequate timesheet records.
Requirements
- Experienced in utilizing AutoCAD 2D and 3D and BIM 360 Modelling.
- Background in handling 3D Cable Routing.
- Reviewing Project As Builds as and when required.
- Persons (National Grid) accreditation, but we are able to facilitate if required.
- CSCS Card holder would be desirable, but we are able to supply if required.
- Experience in Revit capability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities by delivering on each quarter's performance while building a company for long-term success.
