Senior VAT Analyst

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior VAT Analyst to join our team at Jaguar Land Rover. As a Senior VAT Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting and supervising an offshore team, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of VAT reporting, refund claims, and accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and ensure the accuracy of VAT returns produced by the offshore team, meeting tight deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of VAT processes, identifying and resolving compliance reporting issues and errors.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on VAT matters to suppliers, businesses, and customers, addressing queries and audit questions from various parties.
- Support the implementation of VAT process changes resulting from business or system changes, assessing VAT impact, compliance requirements, financial implications, and contract reviews.
- Monitor industry policy, Tax Authority policy, and legislative VAT developments, communicating relevant changes to the VAT compliance team and the wider business.
Requirements
- Proven experience in finance and accounting systems, with a strong understanding of VAT principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement process improvements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide expert advice and guidance to various stakeholders.
- Experience with GL reconciliations and financial postings, with a strong understanding of financial systems and processes.
