Transport Coordinator

Menzies Distribution Limited is seeking a skilled Transport Administrator to support the smooth and efficient running of our transport operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our transport department, ensuring the timely despatch of outbound vehicles and tracking their journeys.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage all administrative requirements related to transport, including liaison with internal and external customers, suppliers, and drivers.
- Ensure the timely despatch of outbound vehicles and track their journeys, monitoring the arrival of inbound vehicles and liaising with the warehouse team.
- Identify and monitor issues trends, contributing ideas to improve our ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Support the planning of routes, ensuring the operation remains legally compliant through monitoring drivers' hours and downloading tachographs.
- Respond swiftly to breakdowns and vehicle defect reports, performing ad-hoc administration duties as required.
- Excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail, with a general understanding of transport legislation and logistics operations.
- Experience of producing reports and statistics in a timely manner, with the ability to react quickly to information and help solve any challenges to routes.
- Good computer skills, with experience using in-house transport management systems an advantage.
- The drive and motivation to work night shifts, with a professional and positive telephone manner.
