Mechanical Services Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Services Engineer to join our team. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the materials handling equipment of our clients is serviced, legally compliant, fit for purpose, and safe.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional mechanical engineering knowledge and experience, with the ability to understand and problem-solve complex issues. Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:- Planned service on vacuum tube lifting systems across all industries.
- Planned installations of equipment on site.
- Breakdown service on all of the above.
- Upgrade installations and subsequent maintenance.
- Training of operators.
- Management of van stock parts, van service, and maintenance schedules.
- Completing written reports in a timely manner.
- Providing feedback from site on problem issues on design and manufacture.
- Supporting each other when on site to provide input of experience.
- Assistance with offloading and loading of goods as required.
- Completion of timesheets and expenses claims.
- Management of tools on site.
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (pneumatics an advantage).
- Minimum NVQ level 3 or time-served equivalent (relevant previous experience).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills and customer-oriented approach.
