We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our Finance Team at The Children's Trust. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting systems, treasury management, and accounts payable and fundraising finance income processing.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the general ledger to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Assist in preparing annual accounts in compliance with SORP and relevant GAAP.
- Lead the preparation of the annual cash flow forecast and monthly reconciliations between forecast and actual.
- Manage bank reconciliations and posting of transactions.
- Oversee the purchase ledger function to ensure the ledger is clean and at an acceptable level.
- Ensure the Purchase Ledger Manager maintains sub-ledgers within the purchase ledger.
- Assist with credit control in liaison with relevant service leads.
- Oversee the Fundraising Accountant role to ensure accuracy of reconciliations between Fundraising and Finance.
- Manage the Fixed Asset Register to ensure its accuracy.
- Submit quarterly VAT returns and VAT reconciliations.
- Undertake ad hoc projects as required by the Head of Finance.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in financial management, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
