About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our Finance Team at The Children's Trust. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting systems, treasury management, and accounts payable and fundraising finance income processing.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the general ledger to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  2. Assist in preparing annual accounts in compliance with SORP and relevant GAAP.
  3. Lead the preparation of the annual cash flow forecast and monthly reconciliations between forecast and actual.
  4. Manage bank reconciliations and posting of transactions.
  5. Oversee the purchase ledger function to ensure the ledger is clean and at an acceptable level.
  6. Ensure the Purchase Ledger Manager maintains sub-ledgers within the purchase ledger.
  7. Assist with credit control in liaison with relevant service leads.
  8. Oversee the Fundraising Accountant role to ensure accuracy of reconciliations between Fundraising and Finance.
  9. Manage the Fixed Asset Register to ensure its accuracy.
  10. Submit quarterly VAT returns and VAT reconciliations.
  11. Undertake ad hoc projects as required by the Head of Finance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in financial management, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
