Position Overview
Your Role
In this pivotal role within our Civil Engineering division, you will connect two essential nuclear projects at varying stages of their civil design processes. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct a thorough gap analysis to ensure civil requirements align with relevant codes and standards.
Your tasks will include:
- Collaborating with stakeholders to define and enhance the Book of Technical Specifications (BTS).
- Identifying and rectifying missing information to guarantee the accuracy and compliance of the BTS with project timelines.
- Updating project Codes and Standards based on the findings from the gap analysis.
- Managing and finalizing revisions to the BTS through stakeholder feedback and approvals.
- Leading progress meetings, workshops, and action plans to ensure project success.
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Experience in Nuclear Civil Work or complex structural projects.
- Proficiency in structural design and engineering calculations.
- Familiarity with Eurocodes, American codes, and/or ETC-C.
- Knowledge of UK Health and Safety regulations (e.g., CDM 2015).
Desirable Skills
Additional qualifications that would be beneficial include:
- Experience in designing concrete structures and steel-lined pools/tanks.
- An understanding of seismic loading on structures.
- Experience with material interfaces on large-scale projects.
- A commitment to achieving chartership with ICE or IStructE.
- Strong communication skills for articulating complex technical topics.
