Job Title: Nuclear Structural Integrity Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Structural Integrity Specialist to join our team at Vulcain Engineering - UK. As a key member of our Civil Engineering team, you will be responsible for carrying out structural and steelwork engineering support for energy projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage or participate in the design of steelwork structures to ensure compliance with civil and mechanical nuclear standards.
  • Collaborate with CAD designers to prepare design drawings and models.
  • Control calculation notes, analytical models, and design drawings.
  • Maintain company and customer QA procedures in the delivery of civil design for nuclear reactor sites.
  • Manage engineering changes, liaising with concrete structures, pipes, electrical, and ventilation interfaces design management teams.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including design offices, construction teams, and project management.
  • Write technical documents to support delivery.
  • Participate in technical communities to support the development of other Vulcain staff.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
  • Senior/principal level of experience in detailed design of steel structures.
  • Chartership status or actively undergoing the process of attaining chartership through a recognized international body.
  • Experience in projects dealing with material interfaces, high-hazard industries, including nuclear, oil & gas, energy, heavy process industry, or bridge.
  • On-site design support is a plus.
  • Previous experience in mentoring junior engineers.
  • Proficiency in Robot, Rstab, STAAD Pro, or similar software.
  • Civil standards (Eurocodes, ETC-C, RCC-CW).
  • TEKLA Structures (a plus).
