We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Control expert to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd. as a Principal Area Surveyor. This is a 3-month contract with a high likelihood of extension at the client's discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Manage and supervise the Building Control Technical Team to ensure compliance with Building Regulations, Building Acts, and associated legislation.
  • Service Delivery and Quality: Contribute to the development and implementation of service delivery and quality initiatives to promote the Authority's Building Control service.
  • Business Development: Assist the Head of Building Control in developing and implementing the framework of the business unit to ensure continuous improvement, competitiveness, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Provide high-level advice and negotiate with public officers, builders, architects, engineers, external consultants, and other bodies on all aspects of building control.
  • Fees and Charges: Assist in the development of appropriate fees and charges structures to ensure a sustainable and competitive service.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree or HNC in building, building surveying, civil, or structural engineering, with significant relevant post-qualification experience or comparable knowledge and skills obtained through relevant experience.
  • Experience: Significant experience as a senior manager in a building control environment, including a history of business expertise suited to the competitive nature of a building control service.

  • The successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK.
