About the Role
Avara Foods is seeking a dedicated and experienced Despatch Operations Lead to join our team at our Wednesbury site. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods, upholding high standards of safety and operational excellence.
Your Responsibilities- Collaborate closely with MHE trainers and Logistics Section Managers to cultivate high-performing despatch teams.
- Proactively address issues by escalating them promptly through key personnel, including Production Schedulers and Logistics Section Managers.
- Effectively manage staffing concerns, ensuring fairness, consistency, and timely resolution.
- Distribute workloads equitably across the despatch department, promoting a balanced and efficient workflow.
- Provide regular updates on shift progress through established escalation procedures.
- Oversee bay procedures to guarantee adherence to safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Follow established defect procedures for MHE equipment and scan guns.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of and commitment to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
- Demonstrate a strong awareness of, and adherence to, health & safety procedures, fostering a culture of safe work practices.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene procedures, upholding the highest standards of sanitation.
- Adhere to all Avara Foods policies and procedures, promoting a professional and ethical work environment.
- Conduct critical control point (CCP) checks within your area of responsibility, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
Competitive compensation package with an hourly rate of £14.00, plus an additional £2 per hour for hours worked between 6pm and 6am. This translates to a minimum weekly earning potential of £563.
