We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality clinical care to children and adolescents with mental health needs, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver effective care and support.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high standards of care and safety.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of mental health services for children and adolescents in the region.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including GPs, social workers, and other specialists, to ensure seamless care and support.
- Hold a medical qualification, such as MBBS or equivalent, and be registered with the GMC.
- Have a CCT in Psychiatry or be on the Specialist Register in Psychiatry.
- Have experience of working with children and adolescents with mental health needs.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Have a strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health, including current research and best practices.
- Postgraduate qualification in child and adolescent psychiatry or a related field.
- Experience of leading and managing a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience of developing and implementing policies and procedures.
- Experience of working in a mental health service for children and adolescents.
