Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated Athletic and Behavioral Support Specialist to engage with students in an Alternative Provision setting. Ideal candidates will possess experience in educational environments and familiarity with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Candidates with relevant transferable skills from other sectors are also encouraged to apply.
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience working with youth in educational or supportive roles
- Strong organizational and communication abilities
- A genuine passion for inspiring and assisting children
- Interest in supporting young individuals with diverse SEND
- Experience with children having additional needs is a plus
- Ability to provide teaching references
- Willingness to collaborate within the broader school community
Understanding Behavioral Management:
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the classroom teacher and fellow teaching assistants in daily classroom operations
- Supporting students during lessons and school activities
- Providing assistance during lunch and break periods
- Tailoring personalized learning experiences based on individual student needs
- Facilitating 1:1 or small group learning sessions
- Gathering evidence of student progress to aid in assessments
