Beacon Support Ltd. are recruiting for a Specialist Support Professional - Vision Impairment to work with Higher Education students. The position offers flexible hours to work around you, whilst helping to make a difference to students’ educational experiences.

We have students with sensory impairment who require one to one support with their higher education studies. Tutors work with an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and act as facilitators to help students develop learning strategies that will improve their study skills and enable them to become independent learners.

**Requirements**:

- Inclusive Education (Visually Impaired Learners) (PgDip)
- PG/Dip Teaching Learners with a Visual Impairment (QTVI)
- PGDip/MA Education of Children and Young People with Vision Impairments
- PG/DIP Teaching and Supporting Learners with Visual Impairments in Further Education

OR

ANY Postgraduate qualification e.g. AFHE, FHEA, PGDip, PGDE, PGCE, MA, MSc, PhD etc.

PLUS a vision-related specialist qualification. For example:

- Specialist Qualification in Habilitation and Disabilities of Sight (Children and Young People) Grad Dip
- Applicants must be willing to meet with students on a face-to-face basis if this is a request for their support provision._

**Further skills/requirements include**:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to identify different strategies that enable students to build on their learning strengths
- Excellent organisational skills
- Accurate spelling and grammar skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Ability to maintain a confidential and professional working relationship

This is a fixed term/rolling contract.
