Job Overview

The Warehouse Team Leader plays a crucial role in assisting the Shift Manager with the oversight of operational teams. This position is essential for fostering motivation among team members, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations, and upholding all Company policies and procedures. The goal is to guarantee that all products are picked and dispatched to meet or exceed established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities of the Warehouse Team Leader:

  • Lead and inspire the shift team to achieve or surpass productivity and service KPIs.
  • Oversee the Goods Inwards area and Loading bays to ensure prompt and careful receipt of goods, maintaining stock availability for order fulfillment.
  • Train and develop team members to maximize their contributions and support succession planning.
  • Conduct disciplinary and grievance interviews and investigations in accordance with Company policies.
  • Assist the Shift Manager with various duties within the Warehouse operations.
  • Supervise the cross docking process to ensure efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workplace at all times.
  • Deliver daily shift briefings to keep teams informed and prepared for their tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company's Health, Safety, and Welfare policies across all warehouse areas.
  • Monitor and optimize the work environment for maximum operational efficiency.
  • Align shift performance with workload and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Utilize available resources to their fullest potential consistently.

Required Qualifications

  • Prior experience in warehouse operations.
  • Proven ability to manage a large team effectively.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse and Logistics operations in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety standards.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Dependable and conscientious work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Capacity to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Skill in prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Proactive decision-making abilities.
