Role Overview

As a Taxation Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the UK corporation tax function in collaboration with external advisors.
  • Establishing and nurturing relationships with external UK and Group tax advisory teams.
  • Coordinating with the Group Tax Team.
  • Ensuring compliance with Transfer Pricing regulations.
  • Managing the relationship with HMRC, addressing inquiries, coordinating processes, and providing regular updates on inquiry status.
  • Leading straightforward UK tax accounting and reporting tasks.
  • Conducting tax planning assessments and reporting.
  • Directing the annual evaluation of qualifying expenditures for R&D tax credits.
  • Reviewing and enhancing processes related to VAT returns.
  • Supporting and improving responses to tax evasion risks within the organization.
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly corporation tax submissions, including documentation and review processes.
  • Providing technical tax and project management assistance on local and global initiatives, including changes in group structure, property, and M&A transactions, while liaising with external tax partners as necessary.
  • Assisting the broader finance and trade team with indirect tax inquiries for specific cases.
Candidate Profile
  • Possession of an accounting or tax qualification (ACCA/ACA/ICAS/CTA).
  • Experience in an in-house role within a B2B or manufacturing environment or a significant UK Tax practice.
  • Interest in systems and indirect taxation.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
  • A strong desire to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  • A confident individual with sound judgment and pragmatism, comfortable engaging with senior business members.
