Senior Building Surveyor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Surveyor to join our team at Building Careers UK. As a leading construction consultancy, we provide expert services to clients across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and advise on the design, construction, maintenance, and refurbishment of various building types.
  • Conduct acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys, and defect investigations.
  • Prepare detailed reports, schedules of work, and specifications.
  • Design and oversee works in accordance with established building contracts and current technical standards.
  • Manage large-scale projects independently, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of professional consultancy services.
  • Apply relevant legislation, including health and safety, party wall, building regulations, and planning.
  • Actively promote the company's services to secure new projects and enhance the brand presence.
  • Support and supervise APC candidates to foster their professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with all company administrative and health & safety procedures.
Candidate Profile:
  • MRICS accreditation or a desire to achieve it.
  • Extensive experience in consulting engineering, surveying, architecture, and planning, with a strong understanding of statutory requirements and technical publications.
  • Proficiency in defect diagnosis and report writing.
  • Experience with insurance repair projects is advantageous.
  • Background in negotiation and leadership roles.
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and budgets on large projects.
  • Familiarity with CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall legislation, and Building Regulations.
  • Strong mathematical, scientific, and IT skills, with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Flexible attitude toward work types.
Benefits:
