We are pleased to present an opportunity for an Employee Relations Specialist to deliver expert, strategic, and specialized employee relations guidance and mentorship to our management teams and stakeholders within the broader Human Resources division. This role is pivotal in achieving organizational goals and operational success.

The specialist's advice will ensure that employee experiences are consistent with our corporate strategy, policies, established practices, compliance, and legal obligations. A thorough understanding of the company's comprehensive People Policies and procedures is essential.

The Employee Relations Specialist will oversee a range of intricate and high-stakes cases, including disciplinary actions, grievances, whistleblowing incidents, absence management, performance issues, appeals, early conciliation, and Employment Tribunal claims. This role is also responsible for facilitating consultations related to organizational change initiatives, including restructures, redundancies (both individual and collective), TUPE processes, and modifications to terms and conditions. Additionally, the specialist will manage the execution of ER-related projects, policy revisions, and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate individual and collective consultations for organizational change projects, including redundancy processes, TUPE transitions, and alterations to terms and conditions.
  • Manage complex and high-risk cases, including disciplinary actions, grievances, absence issues, capability challenges, appeals, whistleblowing, early conciliation, settlement agreements, and Employment Tribunal matters.
  • Conduct risk assessments on ER-related issues and projects, providing clear and actionable options for business consideration.
  • Offer effective support, mentorship, and development opportunities for HR Advisors.
  • Utilize ER data analytics (including Excel data manipulation) to identify trends and insights that address stakeholder needs, facilitating proactive interventions.
  • Identify deficiencies in existing processes, systems, and procedures, collaborating with stakeholders to drive continuous enhancements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders, acting as their business partner while leveraging support teams to ensure satisfaction.
  • Design and deliver training programs to address identified needs, enhancing performance and meeting organizational requirements.

Qualifications:

  • CIPD Qualified or Part Qualified.
  • Extensive experience in Employee Relations, particularly in managing complex/high-risk cases and leading consultation processes for organizational change.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • In-depth technical knowledge and skills to operate independently as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in:
  • Guiding, coaching, and training managers on Employee Relations, negotiation, and the compliance and application of policies and legal frameworks.
  • Identifying, assessing, and managing risks while utilizing excellent communication skills and technical guidance to provide balanced, commercial, and fair solutions.
  • Applying an understanding of the business landscape and objectives to formulate commercial solutions while providing technical support when necessary, especially in complex or sensitive situations.
  • Communicating and influencing effectively in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to all organizational roles and external contacts.
  • Interpreting and identifying data trends, along with proactive horizon scanning.
