Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Construction and Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the activities of all personnel and contractors under their supervision. This role requires effective management of both in-house trades staff and external contractors, ensuring that all operations are conducted professionally and efficiently. The supervisor will also be responsible for covering the responsibilities of other supervisors during their absence.

Key Responsibilities

The primary function of the Construction and Maintenance Supervisor is to manage and direct all staff and contractors within their jurisdiction.

You will be tasked with ensuring that the in-house team and contractors are managed effectively, with the added responsibility of stepping in for other supervisors when necessary, particularly in areas related to construction and maintenance.

As a vital member of the Estates Operations Team, you will share both group and individual responsibilities for specific aspects of the service, contributing positively to the overall objectives of the Estates and Facilities Directorate.

Your role will be crucial in delivering a high-quality service that meets the expectations of staff, patients, and the community.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Recognized trade apprenticeship in Construction or a related field.
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 with relevant experience in a supervisory role.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Technical qualifications related to construction and maintenance.
  • Understanding of healthcare infrastructure and building systems.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience in an operational maintenance environment, preferably within public sector facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse team of staff and contractors.

Knowledge and Skills
