Role Overview:
If you have a passion for media engagement and crafting impactful narratives, the PR and Communications Assistant role at 8Bits is for you. You will play a key role in shaping and executing communication strategies that bolster our brand's presence and credibility. Your responsibilities will include content creation, managing media relations, and supporting various public relations projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the formulation and execution of public relations strategies and communication frameworks.
- Draft and refine press releases, media advisories, and other public relations documents to ensure clarity and coherence.
- Support media outreach by preparing press kits, coordinating interviews, and maintaining media contact databases.
- Track media coverage and compile reports on public relations activities and media mentions.
- Help manage social media platforms by creating and scheduling content, engaging with audiences, and analyzing performance metrics.
- Assist in organizing and promoting events, including press briefings, product unveilings, and promotional campaigns.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather insights and produce content for newsletters, blogs, and other communication outlets.
- Maintain and update the company’s website with pertinent news and information.
- Provide administrative assistance to the PR and communications team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing documentation.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in public relations and communications to contribute innovative ideas and strategies.
What We're Looking For:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities with a strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with media and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content management systems (CMS).
- Basic knowledge of public relations, media engagement, and communication strategies.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic design tools (e.g., Canva) is advantageous.
- A degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
- A genuine enthusiasm for the entertainment sector and a passion for storytelling.
