In this rewarding position, you will join Empower's esteemed community Outreach Team, serving areas such as Somerset, Devon, and Bristol. Your role will involve assisting children, families, and caregivers in the community, particularly during challenging times. You will support daily activities, offer mentorship, and help families navigate various obstacles.
As a member of our bank team, you will have the flexibility to cover shifts across our services and provide support to our Foster Carers, allowing you to explore a range of support roles.
Your responsibilities may include assisting a family in a healthcare setting, facilitating supervised interactions, or helping a young person build self-esteem.
We seek resilient and dedicated individuals who are adaptable and work well in a team. To excel in this role, you should possess kindness and compassion, along with a willingness to face challenges.
To ensure the well-being of the children, young people, and families we serve, it is important that you have prior experience in caring for children and young people. However, we understand that you may not have all the answers; our friendly and supportive team will guide you throughout your journey.
Our bank roles are community-oriented, requiring travel to engage with children, young people, and their caregivers, as well as visits to the office. Therefore, having a vehicle and business insurance is necessary.
This position is contingent upon successfully passing an enhanced DBS check for child and adult workforce, including barred list checks. The selected candidate will need to cover the cost of their enhanced DBS check upfront, which will be reimbursed after completing 100 hours of work.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; therefore, applicants must disclose any unprotected convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 & 2023).
