About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Compliance Officer to join our General Counsel team at Gowling WLG. As a key member of the Compliance Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the firm meets all of its legal, regulatory, and professional obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Compliance Team in ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and professional requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective compliance strategies and procedures.
  • Provide expert advice on complex regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Manage and coordinate compliance-related projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the General Counsel and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with the firm's objectives.

Requirements:

  • Senior qualified lawyer with significant experience in compliance and regulatory law.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation, and practice.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
