Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Event Technician to join our team at EVCOM. As a key member of our Production team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Technical Specialists, Senior Technicians, and Technicians to deliver end-to-end event production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Effectively manage the performance of direct reports through formal and informal channels.
  • Event Planning and Delivery: Responsible, along with other Technicians and Specialists, for the successful planning, staffing, and delivery of event requests held within our clients' fully equipped event spaces.
  • Technical Expertise: Able to operate a range of installed AV systems to an advanced level, including Ross Carbonite switchers, ETC Ion lighting desks, Sony RCP 1500s, and SSL L100 audio consoles.
  • Technical Support: Owns the technical support lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks throughout pre-production planning, execution, and post-event.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Reports staff, customer, or technical failures to their management team and is responsible for gathering information required to complete the associated fault forms within an agreed SLA time period.
  • Contingency Planning: Ensures SOPs are applied, and that contingency planning is included in event support.
  • R&D and Process Improvement: Leads on R&D efforts, identifying ways in which we can improve quality of output, efficiency through automation/tooling, and process improvements.
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years of professional technical live event production experience.
  • 3+ years of experience of line managing a team of AV and Events technicians at varying levels.
  • Strong proficiency in operating a range of installed AV equipment, including Ross Carbonite, Barco switching, Sony RCP 1500, and ETC Ion lighting desk.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team.
  • Experience working in a broadcast environment, with specific exposure to operating in a gallery/master control room setting.
  • Understanding and experience of various event formats, including Q&A, training events, town hall meetings, etc.
