Lead Event Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Event Technician to join our team at EVCOM. As a key member of our Production team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Technical Specialists, Senior Technicians, and Technicians to deliver end-to-end event production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of technical professionals to plan, staff, and deliver event requests within our customer's event spaces.
  • Operate a range of installed AV systems, including Ross Carbonite switchers, ETC Ion lighting desks, Sony RCP 1500s, and SSL L100 audio consoles.
  • Manage technical risks throughout pre-production planning, execution, and post-event.
  • Report staff, customer, or technical failures to management and gather information for fault forms.
  • Develop and implement SOPs, contingency planning, and R&D efforts to improve quality, efficiency, and process improvements.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 7 years of professional technical live event production experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in line managing a team of AV and Events technicians.
  • Strong proficiency in operating installed AV equipment, including Ross Carbonite, Barco switching, Sony RCP 1500, and ETC Ion lighting desk.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse team.
  • Experience working in a broadcast environment, with exposure to gallery/master control room settings.
  • Understanding and experience of various event formats, including Q&A, training events, town hall meetings, etc.
